Tattoos We Never Want to See Again | Tattoo Artists React

You may think that your idea for a tattoo is a unique and beautiful snowflake of a concept, but chances are that your tattooer has seen it before. Not just once before, but hundreds of times. So we asked our group of tattoo artists, which tattoo idea are you absolutely sick of seeing? The answers range from played out styles to overdone motifs to one happy-go-lucky tattooer that loves it all. This is the season premiere of Tattoo Artists React with a whole new cast of characters. Strap in, it’s going to be a wild ride!

Inked has rounded up all of your favorite tattooers for another season of Tattoo Artists React. This season we’ll grill them about the biggest mistake they’ve ever made, how they approach doing job stoppers, what it feels like to see that their work has been covered up and more. You’ll marvel as they struggle to figure out which celebrities aren’t inked and laugh until your sides hurt as they tell us about the worst clients they’ve ever had to deal with. It’s going to be a season filled with excitement, hilarity and even the occasional tear. New episodes will be posted every Friday.

  1. This girl I went to high school with got engaged and her fiancé has a full sleeve of a pocket watch and roses… it’s done well but it’s so basic and unimaginative

  2. This is why I don't get along with a lot of other artists. There's a lot of really egotistical tattoo artists. I'm not going to shit all over what other people like. I mean it's like a dentist saying that he's tired of always doing crowns or root canals.

  3. gotta love people with script tats on their eye brows, script across their coller bones and eye of providence on neck tats calling other people out for clocks and lions though.

  4. i transferred my 12 year old's drawing "ghostly axolotl" on my thigh and inked it myself, so awesome looking. Bought my stuff from bezos and watched the youtubers, it can be family fun. I am old AF my skin has not that much time left anyway. 4×5 inch piece on my forearm over the weekend black on red beetle clan banner from KUBO, day 5 and starting to peel a little, 5 more days and i can go back to finish the red.

  5. it seems like with every age there are different tattoo trends and clichés, kinda cool that you could guess when a person got their tattoo based on the evolution of trends

  6. Nothing wrong with a rose tattoo. Classic and looks good, as well as innocuous. I got mine knowing its really common. I like it, i got it.

  7. There is a time and place for every style of tattoo. Regardless of whether it seems basic, it represents a certain moment in time for the person receiving it.

  8. Video should have ended @ 8:32 nikkohurtado comes across as a girl that doesn't want to "hurt anybody's feelings", but I guarantee he like hosts dogfights in his basement or some sick shit like that.

  9. I don't like the American classic ones honestly. I feel like it has all the potential but just doesn't work well. Like I think drawing the flat face of something is the best way to start and then you go around the sides to fill in the side face with depth and color shadows and stuff. It ends up looking so good compared to just giving a random body shape and exaggerated claws or eyes or expressions.

  10. I want two tattoos… a daffodil and a cat, not a big cat like a lion… just one that looks like my cat, my toby, I miss him so much. The flower is for my grandma, because she likes those flowers, the only tattoos I want are to remember my loved ones… exept maaaaybeeeee a smily face on my middle finger…

  11. Oh god Nikko you are just wonderful 🥺 all the other people make me really anxious, I couldn’t stand walking into a tattoo parlour and being judged like that 😨

  12. I like micro tattoos though. They’re still tattoos without all the commitment of those huge ones. Plus in a lot of workplaces and for certain jobs you can’t be covered in huge tattood

  13. I don’t mean to play devils advocate here or anything, but don’t tattoo artist get paid to draw and create art for other people? Not for themselves? I don’t understand, why I always hear tattoo artist complaining about the pieces that they have to do over and over again. Isn’t that what they’re paid to do?

  14. Any artist with real skills would be able to draw a bad ass lion without copying a pic. Maybe use it as a reference or inspiration but they act like they have to only use popular pics. I think it's just an excuse to not actually draw something. They only want to do there own style and designs and charge us a shitload of money for it

  15. I’m a tattoo virgin and was calling places tryin to scope out the best place. Made one guy laugh pretty good cause I purposely said “I wanna be unique so Im thinking a Lion on top of a compass with a bunch of roses” just to fck wit him lol

  16. I understand being bored with working on repetitive stuff, but some of these comments are exceptionally stupid. Mad because someone only wants one line? Some people don't want other tattoos. Who cares if it takes up too much area for you?

  17. Flowers in general will never grow old because they work with everything and you can pair it with many other designs also flowers are just beautiful get what u like not what other ppl want u to get

  18. I give my tattoo artist a general idea and let him run with it. He’s an incredible artist and I trust him and his abilities more than I trust my own taste and opinions 😆
My last tattoo I didn’t even have any ideas, I let him design it without my input at all and it’s my favorite tattoo I have. Find great artists you trust and you will never be disappointed.
