  1. No disrespect at all to you, the artist just messed up the “luv” fingernail. I think people are being harsh because of the artist’s mistake, not coming at you. People will always have something to say. As long as you’re happy, that’s what really matters.

  2. This is why they say drawing hands is one of the hardest things to do.

Edit: OP states that artwork isn’t done yet and he will be going back to have it completed. Idk if I’d trust them tbh…

  3. The lining is a bit thin for my liking, might just be the photo, and the fingers are a bit botched. But, if you’re happy that’s all that matters, it’s still a good tattoo and you really have to study the tat to notice any error in the design. I think people are just being harsh because a) internet b) Redditors think they’re experts on every subject that intrigues them. Ignore them, tattoos are for yourself to enjoy and yourself alone.

  4. Never post your tattoos here. I am very happy with my tattoos but I already know people will bash it and my opinion will change.

I think it looks cool! Imo hands don’t need to look realistic especially with linework.

  5. Yea I don’t get why every post where someone shares a piece they get bashed; I didn’t know this reddit was about tattoo design critique from anonymous experts.

If you like it, that’s all that matters. Each piece is a unique work of art from that artist that belongs to you. Frankly I love it when I get work done by someone like an apprentice where some color accidentally strays outside the line. And, as you get older, it doesn’t matter anyway.

  6. Also, how did you react to getting tattooed there? I have a small tat there on my right side, and everytime the artist put the needle to skin I flinched like I was being tickled.

  7. It’s not bad, but it’s also not great. I would get some color or shading in there for sure- leaving it blank really highlights the wonky bits. Also OP you need to learn to let criticism slide if you’re gonna post on the internet.

  8. Omg fuck no!! Honest opinion this is awful! the lines, the fingers it’s just a mess. It also looks pretty trashy with the suggestiveness of it and the wording on the fingers. I’d get this covered and make sure you research a much better artist than this one.

  9. OP, this sub is the worst. I’ve never posted any of my tattoos here and I don’t plan on ever doing so. If you love it that’s all that matters.

  10. I think the weird thing about the tattoo for me is that;
This is a tattoo of a tattooed hand. If you think a tattooed hand looks cool… you could’ve just tattooed your hand. Now you have a random persons hand pointing into your panties.

  11. looks dope if you ask me

this is honestly one of the worst communities on reddit lol. i don’t understand why people go out of their way to be assholes

  12. I disagree with the people saying the fingers look weird. There’s no shading, but you can tell the hand is turned a bit which would make the fingers look weird if you aren’t using your brain. Your tattoo is cute OP, it’s just random internet people

  13. As a woman with a tattoo in the same spot, don’t get that filled in. I had a baby and it just doesn’t look the same. Since it is only line work now, you can get it removed easier.

  14. The people hating on this have definitely never tattooed that spot before, it’s really challenging skin to work with and the result seems totally reasonable. The tattooer likely has a plan w the shading to tighten everything up. Plenty of dope finished tattoos look a little wonky when they’re just in the lining stage. I’d reserve judgement til it’s actually finished.

  15. artist here. I’m not sure what people are complaining about. Proportionally, this piece looks find to me. It’s stylized, which I assume is why a lot of users here don’t like it. It’s honestly not bad at all. I think a lot of the people criticizing this work aren’t even artists because as far as drawing hands goes, this is better than a lot of work I’ve seen. Friend of mine got a tattoo of praying hands in high school and didn’t notice until I pointed out to him that the hands had six fingers. If it were that egregious I could understand the negativity, but I’m confident over half of y’all commenting here couldn’t have done better yourselves.

  16. Hey! Ignore the hate. I think it’s cute! I have tattoos that aren’t perfect but I still love them & I’ll probably get some touch ups done to fix the spots that are a little wonky. Not every tattoo artist is going to be 100% perfect at what they do. As long as YOU like it and are happy with it then that’s all that matters. ❤️

The finger nails on the tat are a little wonky but not horribly bad like everyone’s saying 🙄 I’m sure they’ll look just fine after you have the tattoo finished 😊❤️
