I got my first tattoo today, but i think it looks a bit uneven and crooked. Is that normal for text tattoos? Or is it normal for it to look uneven before healing? (Made by Upskiboo)

  1. I mean, if it looks uneven before it heals then that’s just the way it looks. 🤷‍♀️ The lines aren’t going to change positions.

I honestly think it looks fine though.

  2. it does look crooked but tbh it gives it that kick like it makes the tattoo look cooler! before reading your title I just saw the tattoo and I thought it was something that you just chose for it to be crooked and it looked really nice!

  3. It looks a bit wonky because you are staring at it closely. I use to make neon signs, I would look at them and think “that bend looks like shit it could be better” but when that sign is 25 feet in the air not one person would notice. Fun tatt! 😁

  4. To me it’s the first B that is throwing it off. If it were a little bigger it would look fine, but it’s really not noticeable. First day of a tat is when they look the best imo

  5. At first glance I was like what are they talking about, it’s not the least bit uneven. Upon MUCH closer inspection, it is a little, but you have to stare for a bit to notice. It’s on your own body and available to look at anytime, so of course you’re going to nitpick and notice every teeny tiny possible flaw. I think it looks great, and in person nobody is going to notice unless you point it out, or they’re staring at you weirdly lol

  6. At first glance, it looked perfect to me.

If it were me, which it is obviously not, I would put a few more tattoos around the area. First, no one is going to notice the tiny imperfects if they are not literally staring at it in a photo. Second, if you had anything else in the area, even if someone were to stare at it, they wouldn’t notice it as much since it wouldn’t be the only thing there. Hope that makes sense/helps.

  7. From a normal distance that everyone is going to be seeing your tattoo, it looks completely even. It’s only when you begin to focus on the text that you’ll notice some slight unevenness but even then it’s not that big a deal. Even tattoos that you think are symmetrical have some asymmetry to them. It’s very difficult to achieve the same evenness as you see it on flat canvas as your skin is not uniform. It looks great and clean and imo you’re fixating on it too much

  8. Luckily for you it’s wavy looking. It reminds me of when u had too much “poison” to drink on the weekend and your eyesight starts to get wavy. Like it’s purposely done that way. But no, that isn’t normal for text tattoos that I’ve seen.

  9. I think it looks better like this than if it were perfectly straight. Much more stylistic. Even if it’s not exactly what you had in your mind, I hope you learn to love it because it looks great.
